Family Getaway

Gorleston-on-Sea
Happy Hump Day! ☀️What a beautiful few days it’s been. We went away over the weekend for our first getaway as a family of three! 👪What an eye opener that was! I definitely took for granted how easy it was to go away just the two of us.

It’s actually amazing the amount of stuff such a small person needs! More outfit changes than Lady Gaga because you know there’s going to be nappy explosion. Then there’s nappies, swim nappies, swim vest, swim float, portable high chair (this was a god send! Summer infant), pushchair, baby carrier (helpful on the beach), baby spoons, baby cup, sleepyhead, Ollie the Owl... you get the idea; a lot of packing! I was very thankful for breastfeeding and not having to negotiate steriliser, formula, bottles etc.
Sharing is caring, Dad!
We stayed in a caravan at Wild Duck (Haven). Beautiful site set in woodland, 4 miles from the nearest beach. Perfect! Pub on site was great and the fish and chip shop was delicious! Swimming was a hit too! They had a baby pool, large pool and a couple of flumes. Decided against taking Alfie on the flume. I was tempted though! They also left us some duck food which was a really cute touch except I kept forgetting it every time we went out...
Just floating around!
The only drawback I would say would be that it gets very cold at night. This meant Alfie didn’t sleep very well. After having him sleep through for a week, going back to two hourly wake ups was like being hit by a bus. We would definitely go back again but probably look at a lodge to help with the nights. Plus they looked beaut with their decking round the duck pond.

Enjoy the sunshine!
