Not all pregnancies run smoothly and some families begin their journey in NICU or SCBU. Two very good friends of mine recently became parents and their journey began with an emergency c-section and has continued with a stay on SCBU.
As if that wasn’t challenging and frightening enough this Mama has decided to breastfeed and has been pumping round the clock. I can’t even imagine waking to a phone alarm in the middle of the night while your body is recovering from major surgery.
She and all you other pumping mamas are superheroes. So this one’s for you Katie. You are a real life superhero. And my thoughts and prayers are with you and Luke.
It really is true - not all super heroes wear capes.
